George Harris:
Notes:
George Harris was one of the original grantees of Canaan, NH. , p. 3.
He came from Norwich, Colchester, CT with his brother, Daniel, ca 1767. p. 19.
When the town charter lapsed for non-performance, because of expending "large sums in bringing forward the settlement of said Township," George petitioned Gov. John Wentworth for a renewal, which was granted on 23 Feb 1769. p. 25.
"The memory of the just is blessed," says his tombstone.
